HC Deb 26 November 1984 vol 68 c368W
24. Mr. Roy Hughes

asked the Secretary of State for Energy when he last met the chairman of the Electricity Council to discuss electricity prices.

Mr. Peter Walker

I refer the hon. Gentleman to the answer I gave to the hon. Member for Walsall, North (Mr. Winnick) earlier today.

46. Mr. Baldry

asked the Secretary of State for Energy if he will make a statement as to the anticipated impact on electricity prices of the present dispute in the coal industry.

47. Mr. Freeman

asked the Secretary of State for Energy whether the Government propose to set financial targets for the electricity industry in 1985–86 which do not place upon it the full burden of financing the dispute in the coalmining industry.

Mr. Peter Walker

No decisions have been taken on how the costs arising for the electricity supply industry from the miners' strike will be met.
