§ Mrs. ChalkerNone. As I explained to my hon. Friend on Tuesday 20 November, at column94, the joint decision of the Secretaries of State will be announced as soon as possible. My decision to hold a public inquiry into the north Devon link stage 2B orders will not influence that decision. The 2B orders, besides fulfilling in part the Government's desire for a road to link north Devon with the M5, also fulfils the objective of providing a much needed bypass for South Molton, Swimbridge and Landkey.
