HC Deb 23 November 1984 vol 68 cc337-8W
Mr. Cartwright

asked the Secretary of State for Transport what plans he has for ensuring the co-ordination and funding of provision for cyclists following the proposed abolition of the Greater London council.

Mrs. Chalker

I attach importance to safe provision for cyclists in London as elsewhere and arrangements in London will take account of this.

Mr. Cartwright

asked the Secretary of State for Transport whether he plans to issue any further consultation documents on the reallocation of transport responsibilities in London that will include discussion of cycling.

Mrs. Chalker

I have no plans at present to do so. Our discussions with boroughs about practical details during the transition period are already in hand.
