HC Deb 23 November 1984 vol 68 c331W
Mr. Gould

asked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry whether the import price of coal given in the "Overseas Trade Statistics" includes the cost of unloading the coal.

Mr. Channon

The values of imported goods given in the statistics are cif, including freight, insurance, commission and all other costs, charges and expenses incidental to the sale and delivery of the goods to the port or place of importation into the United Kingdom—with the exception of any duty or tax chargeable in this country. They do not include subsequent internal charges incurred after importation, such as unloading or inland transportation.
