asked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will give the area of Salcey forest that was originally notified as a site of special scientific interest by the Nature Conservancy Council and the area that remains under such notification following the Forestry Commission's clear, fell and replanting activities.

I am advised by the Nature Conservancy Council that Salcey forest SSSI was first notified in 1970 covering 1,250 acres. It was renotified in June 1984 covering 432 acres.
