Mr. Gordon Brown

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he will update table 34.45 of the "Social Security Statistics" to the latest date for which figures are available.

Mr. Newton

[pursuant to his reply, 16 November 1984, c. 386]: The table is based on provisional estimates of the number of recipients of regular weekly payments of supplementary benefit at December 1983 who had additions to their benefit for special needs (additional requirements).
