§ Mr. Dobsonasked the Secretary of State for Social Services whether any staff of his Department at or above the level of assistant secretary have retired early; and whether any such staff have been re-engaged either permanently or to carry out a specific task.
§ Mr. Fowler[pursuant to his reply, 12 November 1984, c. 149]: Since the beginning of 1983, seven officers at or above the level of assistant secretary have taken early retirement from my Department. Three of these have been engaged as consultants for limited periods to undertake specific tasks in specialist areas.
