HC Deb 19 November 1984 vol 68 c17W
Mr. Wilson

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what is the number of (a) registered workers' co-operatives and (b) community co-operatives in Scotland; and how many people they employ.

Mr. Allan Stewart

The latest figures available to my Department indicate that approximately 92 Scottish co-operatives have been registered. Of these, it is estimated that 43 are workers' co-operatives and 39 community co-operatives or community businesses, employing 363 and 931, respectively.
