HC Deb 15 November 1984 vol 67 cc303-4W
Mr. Sean Hughes

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department how many prosecutions have been brought against private residential nursing homes in the past 12 months by public, professional or governmental bodies; and how this compares with the previous 12 months.

Mr. Mellor

[pursuant to his reply, 9 November 1984, c. 22]: The information readily available to me, which may be incomplete, relates to all prosecutions under the Nursing Homes Act 1975 and regulations thereunder and under the Public Health (Drainage of Trade Premises) Act 1937; it shows 378 such proceedings in 1982 and 286 in 1983.
