asked the Prime Minister how she ensures the co-ordination of Government policies towards the Commonwealth.

My right hon. and learned Friend the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs is responsibile for ensuring the co-ordination of Government policies towards the Commonwealth.

Within the Foreign and Commonwealth Office one department has the specific task of ensuring that Commonwealth aspects are fully taken into account in the formulation of our overseas policies.
