§ Mr. Parryasked the Secretary of State for Employment (1) if he will list the level of unemployment in the Official Report in the city of Manchester on (a) a constituency level and (b) a ward basis at the latest date;
(2) if he will list the percentage of unemployment in the constituencies within the Merseyside special development area on (a) a constituency basis and (b) a ward basis at the latest date for which figures are available;
(3) if he will list the level of unemployment in each London borough on (a) a constituency basis and (b) a ward basis at the latest date; and if he will make a statement;
(4) if he will list the level of unemployment in the city of Liverpool on (a) a constituency basis and (b) on a ward basis at the latest date; and if he will make a statement.
§ Mr. Alan ClarkUnemployment totals for parliamentary constituencies and local authority districts are now available in the House of Commons Library. Unemployment rates are available only for travel-to-work areas and for counties. The new system to compile figures by electoral wards is not fully developed, and unemployment data for individual wards will be made available from about the middle of next year.
