§ 42. Mr. Brandon-Bravoasked the Secretary of State for Transport whether he intends municipal bus undertakings to become public limited companies or whether he proposes to seek privatisation.
§ Mr. RidleyThe intention is that initially district councils bus undertakings should be incorporated as limited liability companies, wholly owned by the parent authorities. It will be open to district councils to privatise the companies subsequently if they wish, though we are not seeking to require them to do so.
