Mr. John David Taylorasked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs whether the new agreement between Spain and the United Kingdom will give to any category of Spanish national right of access and ownership of property in Gibraltar which will not be available to Spanish nationals in other parts of the European Economic Community when Spain accedes to the treaty of Rome.
§ Mr. RentonNo new agreement has been concluded between Spain and the United Kingdom. On Spain's accession to the EC, Spanish nationals will be entitled to enjoy throughout the Community—including Gibraltar—those rights provided for by the treaty of Rome, subject to any derogations and transitional periods that may be agreed between the Community and Spain.
