asked the Attorney-General whether Her Majesty's Government have any proposals for increasing the staffing level in county courts in England and Wales; and if he will make a statement.

The Attorney-General

Staffing levels are maintained as necessary to ensure a satisfactory level of service having regard to the predicted volume of work in particular courts. Within the overall ceiling of the Department additional manpower is allocated to deal with increases in the volume of business.
