§ Mr. GummerThe Government are firmly committed to the principle of employees being informed and consulted about matters which affect them, and my right hon. Friend will stress this to his European counterparts at the next Labour and Social Affairs Council on 7 June. He will also explain that the Government believe that the different industrial relations traditions of member states make Community-wide action on employee involvement inappropriate.
