§ Sir David Priceasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether he will initiate a quick inquiry into football hooliganism with a view to introducing any further measures before the start of the next football season.
§ Mr. HurdThe main responsibility within Government for this matter rests with my hon. Friend the Minister with responsibilities for sport. He, with Ministers from the Home Office, Foreign and Commonwealth Office and Department of Transport set up in March an official working group to examine what new measures might be taken to counter violence associated with football. The working group is expected to report back to Ministers soon.
