HC Deb 22 May 1984 vol 60 c377W
Mr. Steel

asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food whether he is yet in possession of sufficient veterinary evidence with regard to the nature, causes, spread, control and likely pattern of future incidences of the current outbreaks of pigeon paramyxovirus in poultry to be able to decide how best to protect the health of the national poultry flock in the future from this disease.

Mrs. Fenner

I am in constant touch with the industry on these matters. I would expect that next month the industry would, in the light of the disease situation at the time and of the veterinary assessment then, be in a position to reach a decision about financing a fourth year of the existing arrangements.
