§ Mr. Rentonasked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food whether he has any latitude to ease further the phasing-in of milk production quotas and the payment of the co-responsibility levy.
§ Mr. MacGregorThe Commission has agreed that the first two quarterly payments of the supplementary levy may be combined. This means that the first payment of levy will be due not later than 45 days after the end of September 1984–15 November at the latest.
§ Mr. Rentonasked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food when he expects to be able to announce to dairy farmers the detailed regulations concerning direct sales and the ownership and transferability of quotas.
§ Mr. MacGregorWe are urgently consulting industry representatives on the details of the implementation of the quota system. Direct sales are dealt with separately in the Community regulations and some important details have required further clarification in Brussels. We will be announcing further details on the implementation of the supplementary levy as soon as possible.
