§ Dr. Roger Thomasasked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he will make a statement on the reduction in services, and the number of hospital beds in the next 10 years proposed by the West Lambeth health authority and its effect for St. Thomas's teaching hospital.
§ Mr. Kenneth ClarkeThe authority is about to publish a consultative document on strategic options for the district. I welcome attempts to initiate sensible discussion of the issues and choices facing a district and I would not wish to prejudge the outcome of local consultations. I hope that the public served by the authority will consider 365W seriously the health priorities of their District and not just select speculative figures of the kind requested by the hon. Member.
