HC Deb 16 May 1984 vol 60 c192W
8. Dr. Godman

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland if it is his policy not to differentiate between the quality of the care received by mentally ill and physically ill patients in National Health Service hospitals in Scotland.

Mr. John MacKay

It is for health boards to make suitable provision for the care of patients in hospital according to their respective needs. There should be no difference in the quality of this care whatever the condition of the patients might be.
