HL Deb 15 May 1984 vol 451 c1398WA
Lord Melchett

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether they will state which of the following areas of native Caledonian pine forest have been renotified as Sites of Special Scientific Interest, and when they expect the remainder to be renotified:

Amat, Coulin, Rothiemurchus, Cromdale and Monduie, Seafield, Abernethy Forest Lodge, Straanrui, Glenfeshie, North Abernethy, Conaglen, Glentanar, Mar Lodge, Ballochbluie, Meggernie, Lochs and Blackmount Estate.

Lord Skelmersdale

I am advised by the Nature Conservancy Council that SSSIs have been renotified in five of the areas of Caledonian pine forest referred to by the noble Lord, namely: Seafield (part), Glen Tanar, Coulin, Meggernie and Blackmount Estate. I am advised that the areas of Conaglen and Cromdale and Monduie are not known to the NCC. Of the remaining areas mentioned by the noble Lord, the NCC expect to complete SSSI renotification by the end of 1984.
