asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science how much central Government funding has been paid in each of the last five years to the Freshwater Biological Association, Windermere, Cumbria.

The Freshwater Biological Association has received the following amounts from central Government funds over the last five years:

Most of this income derives from the grant-in-aid made to the association by the Natural Environment Research Council from the science budget; the balance is provided by Government Departments and other bodies in respect of commissioned research.
