HC Deb 10 May 1984 vol 59 cc458-9W
Mr. Steel

asked the Secretary of State for Employment whether he will reconsider the eligibility for the job release scheme of Mr. J. Knox, of Walkerbum, whose employer submitted his application four days late.

Mr. Tom King

[pursuant to his reply, 9 May 1984, c. 34I]Those currently eligible to apply for the full-time job release scheme are:

Men aged 64 and women aged 59 Disabled men aged 60–63;

and the part-time job release scheme is open to: Men aged 62 to 64 and women aged 59 Disabled men aged 60 and 6l.

I regret that Mr. Knox's application falls outside these categories and was received too late to qualify under the previous criteria for the full-time job release scheme for 62 and 63-year-old men, applications for which had to be delivered to jobcentres by 3 February 1984.
