HC Deb 10 May 1984 vol 59 cc420-1W
Mr. Nicholas Winterton

asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food whether he will consider introducing a scheme of assistance for British dairy farmers similar to the one currently being introduced by the Federal Republic of Germany.

Mr. Jopling

In England and Wales special cases will be assisted from a reserve quota which has been established by setting aside 2½per cent. of the England and Wales share of the United Kingdom quota. Additional quota could be made available by the reallocation of unused quota. We shall be considering with the various interests what provision for quota reallocations would be suitable in our circumstances.
