HC Deb 08 May 1984 vol 59 c378W
Mr. Wareing

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services if, in the light of the recommendations in the Oglesby report, he will now consider extending the use of lay adjudicators to those claiming mobility allowance and attendance allowance.

Mr. Newton

I refer the hon. Member to my reply to the right hon. Member for Stoke-on-Trent, South (Mr. Ashley) on 30 April at column 49–50. As he will be aware, Mr. Oglesby's report draws important distinctions between the scope for lay adjudication in regard to mobility allowance and attendance allowance respectively.
