HC Deb 08 May 1984 vol 59 c336W
Mr. Haynes

asked the Secretary of State for Employment if people employed by the Manpower Services Commission on community projects have their pension contributions paid or credited.

Mr. Peter Morrison

The staff of community projects within the youth training scheme are employed by the project sponsor and not by the Manpower Services Commission. The commission reimburses to sponsors the cost of employers' national insurance contributions in respect of project staff. Employers' contributions to private superannuation schemes may also be reimbursed if the cost falls within specified limits in relation to the benefits offered. Employees' contributions to both national insurance and private schemes are paid by the employees themselves in the normal way.
