262W
§ Dr. BoysonA single person on strike who has no partner or dependent children cannot receive supplementary benefit for normal day-to-day living expenses except under the emergency relief provisions—for example, in a disaster such as a fire or flood — as prescribed in regulation 4 of the Supplementary Benefit (Trade Disputes and Recovery from Earnings) Regulations and regulation 8 of the Supplementary Benefit (Urgent Cases) Regulations. Otherwise such a claimant can receive a payment only for urgent special requirements as laid down in the trade disputes regulations— for example, for a special diet needed because of renal failure for which he is treated by dialysis.
