§ Sir Bernard Braineasked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs on how many occasions he has requested the Chilean Government to explain the disappearance in Chile of Mr. William Beausire and other persons of British descent.
§ Mr. WhitneyWe remain in regular contact with the Chilean authorities. Our Ambassador has raised this question with the Foreign Minister on two occasions in the last month. We shall continue to press the Chilean authorities for a satisfactory explanation of these cases.
