§ Mr. WhitneyWe have left the Chilean authorities in no doubt about our concern at reports of continued violation of human rights in Chile. We also supported the statement issued by the Presidency on behalf of the Ten member states of the European Community on 9 April calling for the early restoration of civil liberties in Chile.
