HC Deb 30 March 1984 vol 57 c339W
Mr. Dover

asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland what progress has been made on the introduction of the £5 annual dog licence fee and the provision of a dog warden service throughout the Province.

Mr. Butler

The subordinate legislation required to implement the Dogs (Northern Ireland) Order 1983 came into operation on 19 December 1983 and since that date all district councils have been issuing dog licences under the terms of the order.

A number of councils have already appointed dog wardens and it is expected that the remainder will make such appointments shortly.
