asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland how many young people have suffered accidents while working in the youth training programme since 1982; and what is the breakdown of the type of accidents sustained by young people working in the youth training programme in Northern Ireland since 1982.

Between September 1982 and the end of February 1984 there have been six accidents to youth training programme trainees which resulted in major injuries, and 65 accidents which resulted in minor injuries. The major injuries were four broken arms, one broken leg and one broken jaw. The minor injuries were six fractures, two dislocations, one concussion, 13 lacerations or open wounds, three burns, 11 sprains or strains and 29 superficial injuries.
