HC Deb 29 March 1984 vol 57 c290W

Mr. Wareing

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will list the number of persons employed by each individual district council for each year from 1973 to 1983 inclusive.

Mr. Waldegrave

The total numbers employed by most of the district councils in England have been published since December 1979 in the quarterly joint manpower watch surveys, copies of which are available in the Library of the House. These surveys include the figures from December 1978 but no information on the situation before then is available centrally.
