HC Deb 29 March 1984 vol 57 cc292-3W
Mr. Steen

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment how many officials in his Department (a) were employed to establish the land registers and (b) have been employed full or part-time to maintain the land registers since their inception; and how many officials are currently employed for that purpose.

Mr. Macfarlane

The number of staff employed in establishing the registers reached the full-time equivalent of 16 in mid-1982, when almost all the registers had been introduced. The number currently engaged on maintaining the registers and on other aspects of the scheme is the equivalent of 26 engaged full time.
