HC Deb 27 March 1984 vol 57 c154W
38. Mr. Pavitt

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what is his estimate of the income his Department will derive from prescription charges to the chronic sick and cancer patients needing permanent medication from season tickets in the year 1984–85.

Mr. John Patten

The estimated income from the sale of pre-payment certificates in England in 1984–85 is £12.8 million. It is not possible to estimate how much of this income might come from the chronic sick and cancer patients.
