§ 22. Mr. Colvinasked the Secretary of State for Social Services what criteria his Department took into account when considering the level of aid to be given to the National Playbus Association in 1984–85.
§ Mr. NewtonIn awarding a three-year grant of £35,000 a year from 1983–84 towards the central administrative costs of the National Playbus Association, we intended to assist the expansion of its activities beyond those of value to under-fives to become the association
for people interested in the use of mobile community resources".We were impressed with the quality of its activities, and consider that this grant should provide good value for money.
I am pleased that the NPA has also proved able to participate in our under-fives initiative. We will provide £125,800 in 1984–85 for its fifth year project.
I am also pleased to announce that we have been able to provide a further special grant towards administrative costs of £5,000 this year.
