HC Deb 26 March 1984 vol 57 c61W
Mr. Steel

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services whether he will consider an additional age allowance to all war pensioners aged over 80 years.

Dr. Boyson

Age allowances are already paid to war pensioners aged 65 and over whose pensioned disablement is assessed at 40 per cent. or more, and to all war widows aged 65 and over. War widows receive an increased allowance at age 70. Any additional provision would require additional resources. and I can give no commitment.
