§ Mr. Alex Carlileasked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry if he has any proposals to seek to amend section 14 of the Trade Descriptions Act 1968, in the light of the decisions in Westminster City Council v Ray Alan (Manshops) Limited and Newell v Hicks.
§ Mr. FletcherI have no plans to amend section 14 of the Act in the light of these cases. But we are examining section 11 in our wider review of existing law on false and misleading price information.
