asked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry what has been the value and volume of the export of books and publications, and the countries to which they were exported, for each of the last five years.

(c) The fifteen principal countries of destination of these exports, in order of value in 1983, have been the USA, Australia, the Irish Republic, South Africa, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Canada, the Federal Republic of Germany, Nigeria, France, India, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Japan, and Italy.
