HC Deb 26 March 1984 vol 57 cc34-5W
Mr. Allen Adams

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will consider recommending to the House a change in the name of the parliamentary constituency now known as Paisley, North to Paisley and Renfrew.

Mr. Ancram

No. A recommendation for a change in the name of Paisley, North parliamentary constituency would be in the first instance a matter for the Boundary Commission for Scotland in its next review of parliamentary constituencies. The present name was recommended by the commission in its third periodical report dated 18 February 1983, and effect was given to that recommendation in the Parliamentary Constituencies (Scotland) Order 1983.
