HC Deb 26 March 1984 vol 57 c8W
Mr. Greenway

asked the Secretary of State for Transport if he has any plans to authorise the closure of the Marylebone to Northolt Park railway line; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. David Mitchell

British Rail announced on 15 March 1984 that it intended, later this year, to propose the closure of the approach lines from Harrow and Northolt to Marylebone under the Transport Act 1962. It is clear that, when it does so, there will be objections from users, and the proposals will therefore come to my right hon. Friend for decision. He will consider the proposals solely on their merits, taking account of the objections from users and other relevant considerations, including economic and social factors.
