Mr. Fisher

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland how many physically handicapped and disabled people are employed, in what positions, in his Department; and what percentage of the total number of employees this represents.

Mr. Younger

As at 1 March 1984, 121 registered disabled staff were employed in the Scottish Office, of whom 101 were non-industrial in grades ranging from principal to messenger and 20 were industrial; this figure represents 1.72 of the total staff employed.
