HC Deb 22 March 1984 vol 56 cc543-4W
18. Mr. Stephen Ross

asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland how many new developments waiting to be implemented by the Northern Ireland Housing Executive are being delayed by the actions of Republican clubs.

Mr. Chris Patten

The chairman of the Northern Ireland Housing Executive has informed me that at present there are four cases; all in Belfast, where the presence of social clubs could be said to be a contributory factor in delaying the start of new housing developments; the delays have also been due to difficulties in re-housing existing tenants in suitable alternative accommodation.
