§ Mr. Proctorasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will quantify the total value added tax payments paid by the United Kingdom to the European Economic Community in each of the years 1975 to 1983.
§ Mr. Ian StewartThe European Community's own resources by way of value added tax have been collected only since 1 January 1979 from all member states except Germany, Luxembourg and Ireland, who passed the necessary domestic legislation and paid VAT own resources from 1 January 1980. Greece has not yet passed the necessary legislation, but is expected to do so in time for the 1985 Budget.
