§ Mr. Rookerasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will list the years since the introduction of the age allowance when it was changed by a different percentage from the personal allowance.
§ Mr. Moore[pursuant to his reply, 19 March 1984, c. 319]: The age allowance was introduced in its present form in 1975–76. Since then the married and single age allowances have changed by different percentages from the corresponding basic personal allowances in 1976–77 and 1977–78. Different percentage increases are also proposed for 1984–85.
