HC Deb 20 March 1984 vol 56 c417W
Mr. Parry

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment why the hon. Member for Liverpool, Riverside was informed less than 24 hours before his official visit to the hon. Member's constituency.

Mr. Patrick Jenkin

When Ministers in my Department plan regional visits the local MPs are informed as soon as the final programme has been confirmed—normally about a week before the date of the visit. My programme for the visit to which the hon. Member refers was confirmed only four days before it took place, but I am sorry that so little notice was given.
