§ Mr. Foulkesasked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he will list the Commonwealth and non-Commonwealth countries with which the United Kingdom has reciprocal arrangements for the payment of indexed retirement pensions.
§ Dr. BoysonUnited Kingdom pensions are payable throughout the world but annual uprating increases are payable only if the pensioner is in a European Community country or in a country with which the United Kingdom has a social security convention which specifically provides for the payment of such increases. We have such conventions with the following non-EC countries:
Commonwealth
Cyprus, Jamaica, Malta and Mauritius.
Non-Commonwealth
Austria, Bermuda, Finland, Guernsey, Israel, Jersey, Portugal, Sark, Spain, Switzerland, Turkey, the United States of America and Yugoslavia.
