HC Deb 19 March 1984 vol 56 cc374-5W
Mr. Foulkes

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what is the current cost of indexing pensions of Britons who have retired to (a) the United States of America, (b) France and (c) Bermuda.

Dr. Boyson

The full year cost of the November 1983 uprating of retirement pensions and widows benefits paid to people living abroad is estimated as a little over £1 million for those living in the United States of America, about £115,000 for France and about £9,000 for Bermuda.
