Mr. Farr

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs how many applications were received for 1983 for allocations through the joint funding scheme for population and family planning projects; what these applications were and from which organisations; how many and which were accepted; and what were the reasons for those refused.

Mr. Raison

Twelve applications were received seeking support from the joint funding scheme in 1983; eight were approved and four rejected. The details are as follows:
