asked the Secretary of State for Employment what special provisions the Manpower Services Commission is making in courses in 1984–85 for people for whom English is their second language.

In 1984–85 the Manpower Services Commission plans to train 1,750 people on courses of work-related English as a second language under the training opportunities scheme and to support language training for 3,300 employed people through the industrial language training service.
