Whether they will confirm that the undertaking not to build a second runway at Gatwick Airport given by the British Airports Authority to West Sussex County Council does not bind Her Majesty's Government.

Yes. But, as I told the House on 8th March(Official Report, col. 359), the Government do not intend to pursue the possibility of a second runway at Gatwick Airport.
